The Godere Coffee and Spices plantation is located in the Southwestern part of the country, Gambela Regional State, Majang Zone, Godere Woreda. The area lies at the altitudinal range of 1600 to 2100 meters above sea level (m.a.s.l) adjacent to the scenic area in which virgin tropical forest is situated with many natural springs and rivers flowing within and around the farm. The area receives rain fall almost all year round except two dry months.
This farm with a total area of 4000 ha located at Jawi wereda, Awi zone, Amhara Regional State is targeted for the production of oil crops, cereals and pulses, as well as fruits. Currently the farm is totally devoted for the production of soybean, rice, maize and sorghum. In this location, two harvests per annum are feasible using high-tech irrigation system, therefore, wheat and Mung bean are also produced with irrigation as rotational crops during the dry season.
The farm is located, in Benishangul Gumuz Regional State, Dangur Wereda, Metekel Zone, Kota Kebele. The project was initiated in May 2012 on 3231 hectares. Its altitude is 1000-1200 meters above sea level; Average rainfall is 1236-1928 mm; the average temperature is between 16 – 32 degree Celsius and it is included in the climate called arid or semi-arid area. This shows that the climate is suitable for the cultivation of soybean and other cereal crops using modern mechanization technologies.
This facility is located in Addis Ababa, Akaki Kality sub-city, and is equipped with modern state–of–the–art technology for export coffee processing with a capacity of over 5.78 tons per hour as per the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) standards for local and foreign markets. It is one of the service sectors of BEAKA that is mainly established to ensure good forward and backward linkage with the company’s coffee plantation located at Godere. However, its services are not limited to providing processing services to its own coffee farm but it also to other external customers.
